Event Description
Promoting Archaeological Science in the Eastern Mediterranean: Our ancestors' bones tell stories but we need to listen more carefully
Invited talk at the Heritage School, Limassol, on the 26th of September 2018. The audience included approximately 30 students and parents. The talk explained that human osteoarchaeology is an integral part of the archaeological record, despite common misconceptions that link archaeology exclusively with material culture. The audience saw how the human skeleton can provide important information about ancient diet, health, activity and mobility, using as a case study North African Roman material, and the talk concluded with the state of the art in Cyprus and future directions.
